We were the Civil Engineering Consultant for Sparks, Inc., responsible
for the new Asbury site at 66th Street South and South Mingo Road.
Our work included ALTA and topographic survey, coordination with the geotechnical
firm, and coordination with all private and public utilities.
During the design phase, we produced plan drawings for the site plan,
grading and drainage plans. A portion of the site required stormwater
detention. Water and sanitary sewer facilities were extended to serve
the facilities. Design of retaining walls was included. The site was challenging
due to the drop in grade of almost thirty feet across the site. Other
work included an Erosion Control Plan, specifications, and construction
cost estimate.
Project List
Breisch & Associates started preparing site plans for the Git-N-Go
convenience stores in 1996. Since that time, we have worked on over two
dozen store sites in Tulsa, Muskogee, Grove, Oklahoma City, Catoosa, Coweta,
Krebs, Osage County, Joplin and Webb City, Missouri.
Our involvement usually includes the following tasks:
Platting of Subdivisions
ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys
Design/Topographic Surveys
Site Plan
Grading & Drainage Plan
Hydrologic Analysis
Utility Plan
Construction Staking
Project List
The firm prepared a grading and drainage plan for the Transitional Housing
Addition to the Salvation Army facility at Denver and Archer in downtown
Tulsa.
The site was graded to catch runoff before it entered Tulsa streets per
City requirements. Inlets and pipes were sized and connected to existing
storm sewers.
All design was in conformance with the City of Tulsa Stormwater Design
Criteria. Construction drawings, including profiles and details were prepared.
Project List
Work on this project was performed as part of the site and grading plans
for the modernization of the shopping center.
This project lies in a watershed that is subjected to flooding and therefore
detention was required by the City of Tulsa.
The design of this facility required that we consider the limitations
on space, and the existing flood plain water surface elevations. These
problems were solved using concrete slopewalls on the interior of the
pond and designing a discharge structure which would allow the elevated
flowlines to meet City of Tulsa criteria.
Detention routing was done using the Corps of Engineers HEC-1 software.

Mohawk Water Treatment Plant Site Design -- Tulsa, OK
We performed the site design for the expansion of Tulsa's Mohawk Water
Treatment Plant. The work included grading and drainage, roads and parking,
fencing and erosion control.
The site was approximately 130 acres. Grading resulted in about 400,000
C.Y. of earthwork and concrete retaining walls up to 20 feet in height.
Pavement design included all parking areas and about 6,200 linear feet
of 26' roadway with curb and gutter and underground stormwater drainage
system. Design allowed for the paving to be bid as concrete or asphalt
alternates.
Drainage design included detention and pumping. City of Tulsa stormwater
criteria was followed. Hydraulic calculations involved HEC-1 and the Rational
Method.
We were responsible for coordinating the site design with all the other
disciplines involved. Site demolition plans were also prepared.
Project List
The firm was hired to prepare plans and specifications for the civil
site work for the 15-acre Armed Forces Reserve Center in Sand Springs.
Specific responsibilities included site utilities such as water (fire
and domestic), sanitary sewer, gas, electric and telephone.
The grading and drainage plan included design of on-site stormwater detention.
The total change in elevation across the site was about twenty feet.
We prepared details for water meters, double check detectors, vehicle
wash pads, oil/water separators, equipment pads, fencing, and retaining
walls. Four difference pavement sections were used - concrete, reinforced
concrete and heavy and light duty asphalt.
The company also provided property boundary surveys, topographic survey,
and prepared utility and access easements.
Project List
The Mansions at Sand Springs is a 200± apartment complex on 11.2
acres in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
The firm was hired to plat the property and to design the water, sanitary
sewer and detention systems. We also designed the grading plan and necessary
retaining walls.
Project List
We provided the civil site design services for the Fine Arts addition
to Union High School as a consultant to the Architect, Sparks, Inc.
Plan drawings were produced, which included demolition, site plan, grading
and drainage plan, detail sheets, and erosion control plan.
Specific items of work included utility relocation, paving for parking
and drives, gading, stormwater design and the stormwater pollution prevention
plan. Our services included an engineering cost estimate and preparation
of civil specifications.
Our in-house survey crews checked the location of critical items in the
field such as existing utilities, buildings and pavement. We attended
planning meetings with the Owner and the Architect.
